Corporations and Organizations Give Back with a Day of Service

Our rescue runs on 100% philanthropy and depends on the generous spirit of hundreds of volunteers who help us give loving care to our animals.  However, our facilities and grounds also need TLC from time to time.  Volunteers from a variety of organizations armed with shovels, rakes, hammers and paint brushes descend of our grounds to landscape; clean out our barn and storage areas; paint walls;  and help us get ready for special events held on our site.  MLAR gives a huge shout out to the corporations and organizations who recently supported us with volunteer hours.  If your company, organization or school is interested in a project, contact us at donate@mlar.org.

QVC Hosts Adopt MLAR

QVC turned the tables on MLAR this holiday season and adopted the rescue as their QVC Host Holiday Charity! The hosts distribute information about our mission and programs during their holiday gathering and collected $2,885 to support veterinary care for our animals. They also reached out to Halo Pet Foods and secured a donation of more than $4,000 worth of dog and cat food and treats. MLAR is exceedingly grateful to OUR friends at QVC.

Pictured from left posing in the pet food storage area where the Halo Pet Food is stored are Jack Comstock, QVC VP of Talent and former MLAR Board member; Bill Smith, MLAR Exec. Dir., and QVC hosts Richard Domeier, Carolyn Gracie and Jennifer Coffey holding Scooby.
