Thank you to everyone who helped make Wag ’N Train a tremendous success!  Sponsors, attendees, volunteers, and Board members – without all of you we would not have raised over $350,000.  Attended by more than 600, Wag ’N Train guests enjoyed silent and live auctions and dinner and dancing with entertainment provided by the Jim Fogarty Band.  The funds raised will support the specialty and emergency veterinary care that so many of our animals need.  Our special thanks go out to Lisa Rappaport from the Today Show and Sue Serio from Fox29 for making Wag ’N Train extra special this year.

Our heartfelt THANKS go out to Metropolitan Veterinary Associates for a tremendous 5K Race, Walk and Kids Fun Run on October 13, 2012.  Despite the chilly temperatures (those who arrived early experienced temperatures in the 30’s!) it was beautiful sunny day perfect for running and walking!   Over 400 people and countless dogs ran and walked in support of Main Line Animal Rescue. Thank you to all the MLAR volunteers who helped make this event a great success especially our volunteers who ran the race and walked with our shelter dogs who greatly enjoyed the additional exercise!

December 2012:  THANK YOU ASPCA!  Main Line Animal Rescue was the recipient of a $2,000 grant from the ASPCA® to support our Home School.  Run by volunteers, Home School is set up like an apartment and is used to help dogs who are extremely shy and fearful learn what it means to feel safe and loved in a home.  It has couches to snuggle on, steps to learn to climb, small spaces to feel safe in and even a doorbell to learn how to great people at the door.  Many of the dogs at MLAR have never been inside a home.  Home School gives them a chance to learn how great it is and ultimately it helps them find their forever home.
