"Sophia"
"Sophia" was rescued from a K-5 breeder in Lancaster County, along with twenty other dogs. Footage of the rescue was shown on the program. This poor dog, a Shih Tzu, had numerous mammary tumors and a broken jaw at the time of the rescue. It is not uncommon for puppy mills to "de-bark" their dogs by driving sharp instruments or pipes down their throats. Several of the dogs rescued during our undercover investigation came to us with broken jaws.
